HEREDITARY OR NOT?          

Myth: Breast Cancer Run in Families.

Fact: It is said that only 5% to 10% of breast cancer is caused due to abnormal genes being passed from parent to child rest 90% is due to environment and lifestyle factors. This happens to be the rarest of the cases and hence proves that breast cancer is not a hereditary concern.  

CAN BE CONTROLLED OR NOT?

Myth: Nothing Can Lower Your Chances of Developing Breast Cancer.

Fact: Like mentioned in the previous fact, 90% of the time breast cancer is caused due to lifestyle habits and environmental factors. Keeping this in mind, if shaped everyday routine accordingly by dedicating some time for exercising to maintain the healthy weight then the chances of getting affected by breast cancer diseases decrease.

MAMMOGRAMS EFFECTIVE OR NOT?

Myth: Regular Mammograms Helps you Prevent Breast Cancer.

Fact: Mammograms is a technique used to detect breast cancer. They don’t prevent breast cancer but they surely help to save lives by detecting the threat ASAP.

BRAS ARE SAFE OR NOT?

Myth: Bras Cause/Increase the Chances of Developing Breast Cancer.

Fact: Women who wear a bra and the ones who don’t wear a bra are equally prone to breast cancer. Another fact is that underwire bras do not cause breast cancer.

SAFE OR NOT?

Myth: Antiperspirants Lead to Breast Cancer.

Fact: One can consider antiperspirants as safe because no scientific evidence has ever supported this claim.
